Volunteer: Artventurous - Museum of Art

Assist Bryan Lee, the Museum Educator for Art, with his projects at the Museum of Art (MoA) relating to the monthly activities and crafts. The position works with the public and small children on Saturday mornings between 10am-12pm. Artventurous is a drop-in program that is hosted in the museum atrium between the Museum of Art and the Museum of Nature & Science. The topics for each activity usually focus on the current exhibit in the Museum of Art, but not always.

Volunteer: Docent - Branigan Cultural Center - Museum Group Tour

Docent guided tours for the public at the Branigan Cultural Center (BCC) are offered free during regular Museum hours. Tours take a minimum of 30 minutes per museum. Large parties will be broken into smaller groups of 20-25 for a better learning experience. We ask that schools/groups provide proper adult supervision, which is one adult for every ten middle/high school student and one adult for every eight pre-school/elementary school student. Teachers and chaperones are required to stay with their assigned groups throughout the tour. 

Typically tour groups rotate between one or more museums during a given tour date and time frame. Some field trips start at the Museum of Nature & Science (MONAS), if no start location is listed the tour starts in the museum courtyard.

The Las Cruces Pride Parade is back for its 3rd year! This parade leads into the Pride on the Plaza event as a way to close out a whole week of Pride event festivities. Members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies gather together to celebrate. This year's theme is "Rooted in Resilience". Pride parade volunteers will assist with checking in parade groups and floats, giving water out to attendees, walking along the route, helping organize sections of attendees, etc. There will be a good amount of walking with this volunteer position BUT parade organizers will work with volunteers of all capabilities. Free tshirt for volunteers.

The 1st annual Southern New Mexico Book Festival is a one-day event bringing out local and regional authors, book vendors, and more to entice bookworms to enjoy the day reading in Las Cruces. The Festival is looking for volunteers in various shifts throughout the day. The shifts are as follows:

Setup (7am-10am) - assist with tables, chairs, and author book prep

Event Helper (10am-2pm) - assist with workshop attendees, general questions, kids area
